Through 2023, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Takacat, a NZ based inflatable boat company. Our mission: to capture the spirit of adventure, the essence of innovation, and the boundless beauty of Queenstown‘s waterways through captivating photography, all while embarking on thrilling explorations.

Seeing the potential of Takacat’s inflatable boats really got my excitement levels soaring. Designed and developed in New Zealand by the visionary Greg Sowden, these boats offer a tough, stable, and fun option for any water adventure. Whether you’re a fishing enthusiast, an explorer at heart, or simply in need of a high-quality portable tender for your yacht or motorhome, Takacat boats are up for the task.

With a range of options to choose from, I had the privilege of selecting the Takacat T340LX. At 3.4 meters in length, this versatile inflatable boat quickly became the centrepiece of countless adventures. Paired with a Yamaha 2-stroke 15hp engine and equipped with accessories like wheels for easy hauling and rod holders for fishing, it was ready for anything.

What sets Takacat inflatable boats apart is their incredible portability. In just a matter of minutes, I could transform my boat from two compact bags into a seaworthy vessel ready to tackle the waves. Being lightweight, I could easily pull it up onto the beach by myself, granting access to hidden spots that were previously out of reach.

One of the standout features of Takacat boats is their exceptional stability, thanks to the catamaran hull design. Whether I was focused on capturing the perfect photograph in low light or casting my fishing line, the stability of my Takacat boat made it a breeze. No more worries about wobbling and tipping over; I could focus on the task at hand with confidence.

My first adventure with the Takacat boat coincided with the arrival of cooler waters. The adventures with my Takacat boat have been nothing short of spectacular. From navigating the pristine waters of Jackson Bay to sharing the company of dolphins leaping around us in Milford Sound, every moment was etched into memory.

My collaboration with Takacat had a clear purpose: to capture and cross-promote their business to a wider audience. It’s been a journey filled with both personal and professional fulfilment.

As the warmer months approach, I eagerly anticipate the chance to hop in and out of the boat. The boat’s front platform is a perfect launchpad for spontaneous dives. Looking ahead, the summer season beckons, promising new adventures on the horizon, with dreams of exploring Stewart Island, Akaroa, and perhaps even venturing into the depths of Doubtful Sound.

In conclusion, my experience with Takacat and their inflatable boats has been nothing short of extraordinary. These vessels are more than just means of transport; they’re remarkable companions for thrilling adventures. If you’re contemplating a Takacat inflatable boat for your own escapades, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
